earlier this year, i read a blog post at one of my favorite bloggers,Sheryl, from Teaching 2 and 3 Year Olds. the post was about how she uses journals with her class. they use them in a variety of ways that you can read more about in her Journals with 3 Year Olds post.
Bear already has a composition notebook filled with his "homework" that he's written while sitting beside his big sister, Pip. she loves to write and fills up a comp notebook every week with writing in it. since he's so into pretending to be a teenager, i figured i would use that to draw him into our preschool time.
he decorated his own notebook that he'd been "writing" in.
you'll get to see more on Wednesday when we cover the 5 senses as he made journal pages for each of the senses! more then!

I'm looking forward to your senses journals!
ReplyDeleteI was on the phone with my (homeschooling) sister this week, and she calmed down her 20mo son by giving him a math workbook so he could do math like this 8yo sister!
Oh, thank you, Andie, for sharing this! I'm happy my journal post inspired you to start one with your son. I can't wait to read about his 5 senses pages!!!
