Bear is a wHeeL fAnATiC...if it has wheels, he'll play with it. so why not use what he's interested in to propel learning? the goal of this activity was to practice identifying the beginning letter sounds of words.
i used the letter magnets from our LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Alphabet Set
some of Bear's little matchbox-esque work trucks. i spread the letters out on the table and he "drove" each vehicle to park by the letter its name starts with.

we kept having to dig out different cars and trucks because he kept wanting to do more! but at least he was learning, too!
