Bear love seeing the English coins and we compared them to ours. i'm on the lookout for a state quarter from our state to send back to them. that's how creative Charlotte is; i never even thought about that. it was neat to compare what they sent with things that we have here. it gave us a chance to explore diversity and talk about how people in other countries use different words for items.

to learn more about Charlotte, you can read her in {her} shoes post here on Crayon Freckles or head over to Make, Do and Friend for some of her fun activities.

I live in Romania and the Milky Way bar has a nougat center wrapped in chocolate. It floats on milk :)) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvxDhBu0-Gg
ReplyDeleteThat's a fun way to learn about other countries...great idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to have with a special treat package...i should send you some tim tams!
ReplyDeleteAndie- Thank you so much for sharing my post yesterday on KBN. I really thought it was gonna be one of those "lost posts that no one read" but the feedback has been very awesome and overwhelming. I just love your blog- and this post is so cool! If I weren't so buried, I'd do some cool cultural stuff like this with foreign bloggers, too! I bet your kids were enthralled with a different looking Milky Way Bar! Thanks, again- and keep up the cool ideas! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun care package! I lived in the UK for three years and never tried one of their Milky Way bars - assumed they were the same! I miss the chocolate buttons, though!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Everyone loves care packages and when its from a different country, even more fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm from the UK, and I love seeing the differences in wording in stuff from other countries :) Although... I'm pretty sure we call sinks, 'sinks' too a lot of the time lol. I think by basin by they mean a large bowl to mix it in? That's actually pretty weird, I don't know many people who would call a bowl a basin!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! I love this! Hubby traveled to London for work and brought back all sorts of candy for the kiddos. They loved it! This is so cool that you guys did this!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I missed this but 'HOW COOL'! That is amazingly fun, I hope our Flat Me's have this much fun in store for all of us!
