It's time for Readathon 2012. MeMetales has partnered with PBSKids to organize a huge movement of bloggers to use books to help prevent the "summer slide" and to help hungry kids.
Part of this program is to provide books for students across the world the ability to read books from June 18th-July 28th to help keep their brains stimulated during the summer months. MeMeTales makes this possible through their online library.
To participate in Readathon 2012, go to the MeMeTales site and create your account to read online books on your computer or download an app for your android phone, or iphone/ipad. When you sign up, you get 20 online books.
Each week has a different theme. Here's the schedule:
Week 1 – Animal Fun
Week 2 – Friendship
Week 3 - Character Development
Week 4 – Imagination
Week 5 – The Green earth
Week 6 – Global Cultures

After reading the books and doing activities, go back to the MeMeTales site to share your activities! There are even certificates that you can print out to mark your child's accomplishments. For every child that participates in the Readathon, one child will receive a meal through the FoodForEducation.org organization.
