in {her} shoes...Pamela

today's in {her} shoes guest poster has one of the yummiest blogs i've ever seen!  don't believe me?  check out her S'mores Cookies or her Chocolate Chip Nutella Cookies!

Hi! My name is Pamela from Pamela's Heavenly Treats where I blog about healthy cupcakes, cookies and other desserts that I make.  I am a wife and mama of six: 5 boys and 1 girl.

I am so excited that I was asked to be a part of the "in {her} shoes" series.  This is a wonderful experience for me, and I really love this blog...all of the information and things to do with children are wonderful.
I love being a mama, I believe it's an important part of me.  If it wasn't for the little ones behind me, I might have given up on so many things.  In my 15 years of being a mama, I am glad I looked back and thought of my babies.  I have five boys, ages 15, 12 (twins), 8, 6 and one girl age 2.   They are the loves of my life.  I am so happy that the Lord saw fit to bless me with them.

The most challenging part of being the type of mama I am is that I have to stick to whatever I say...your word is your bond.  Now that I have 3 teenagers, they remember what mama says and if I have to say it twice that is means for discipline.  It's very hard for me though especially when my husband leaves for work (Friday - Monday).  My boys try to get a little crazy during that time.  But as they grow older they know that mama is not going to take no mess.  I have to say that everywhere I go people tell me "The Henderson Boys" are so polite, wonderful, well mannered, quiet etc.  I LOVE hearing that because I guess we are doing something right (thank goodness).

The most rewarding part of being a mama is when I see when my kids excel in the things they do, school, sports, clubs etc.  We PRAISE them all the time, for everything they do.  I believe that is what makes your child's head stay lifted up.  The other part is watching my 5 boys and baby girl grow up.   My 3 teens are so handsome and are growing into such Men of Valor and I love it.

The most important values that parents can instill in their children is Love for the Lord; to put him first in everything that you do, Honesty, Love yourself.  As parents we have such a wonderful job to just have God guide our footsteps to help our children fulfill what he has for them in life.  We have weekly bible study, daily prayer, monthly family meetings to let our children know how to be with their family when the Lord blesses them.

If my children could describe me in 3 words it would be Funny, Loving and Determined, because I do have a funny spirit upon me (well my kiddies think so) and I am quite loving.  I am a kissy, huggy mama (my oldest one just wants hugs now)  and I am determined to raise my kiddies to be great men, and a beautiful woman.

Here is my little family (they are enjoying cupcakes that we made)

Here are my shoes (Flip Flops) all summer long...have about 20 pairs!

Thanks so much Andie for having me participate!

So great to learn more about you, Pamela! Your kids are such cuties! You must really have your hands full some days. I don't know how you find time to write such a wonderful blog.

I come from a family with six kids... 5 girls and one boy, with one set of twins, and my brother is the youngest. How funny is that! Growing up I thought it was annoying to have so many siblings. Now that I am older I am so thankful for all the support and love I have. You are giving your kids a wonderful gift!

What wonderful values you are bringing your kids up with! Cute kids too! I agree that instilling a love for the Lord is the most important value there is...everything else will fall into place after that. Have a great day =)
