happy monday!  how is everyone's week starting out like?  today's guest poster for the in {her} shoes series is Shannah from Just Us Four.    her blog is super cute and has lots of yummy recipes!  head over and take a peek at her latest one for cheddar puffs after you read her post!

Hi Everyone! I'm Shannah and I blog over at Just Us Four
My blog is filled all the randomness that comes with working outside of the home fulltime, blogging part time and raising two wonderful kids (4.5 and 18 months)! We're in the middle of a basement renovation so my shoes are typically a little dustier these days but my feet keep on moving!

What is the most challenging part of being a mom?
I have two kids that are about 3 years apart. Actually, they are just 2 days shy of being 3 years apart which makes birthday party planning lots of fun and brings on lots of stress! I think the most challenging part at this stage of the game is balance. We talk a lot of balance when it comes to blogs and stuff but this is more balancing the two kids. They both have such different needs due to their ages, personalities and gender. It can be a real challenge to be sure they are both getting everything they need from me.

What is the most rewarding?
My kids reward me each and every day with their smiles, hugs and kisses. I know that those little things are a reflection of how happy and healthy our kids thanks to the time and effort we put into parenting them.

In your opinion, what's the most important value(s) parents can instill in their children?
I think this is a tough one to really narrow down. First and foremost, I want my children to honest. But I also want them to be hard working and kind too. I feel like these three things are really the key to helping shape them into the adults I'd love them to become.

If your children could describe you in 3 works, which ones would they pick?
Hmmm...I don't think my kids know the word insomniac yet so we'll skip that one! I think they would say I am focused for sure. I am try to make sure every moment of my day has a purpose and that my to-do list is done early so that I can enjoy some downtime with them. I also think they would call me fun! Their dad is the one who does a lot of the playing and has the bigger imagination. But, I try to do a lot of things to make them feel special: little surprises for them or special events to make their day special. Lastly, I think they would say I am caring. We do a lot of things for people in our neighborhood when they are need (new baby, sickness, etc) and I like to think that my daughter, even at her young age, recognizes those things.

So, that is a little about me!  I hope you will come by and visit me over at Just Us Four to learn some more.
